The Patient Evaluation courses of the PA program require a significant course fee, primarily due to the Clinical Skill Center fees which are charged by staff at the School of Medicine. This fee went up significantly over the last several years but we were grandfathered with the previous costs until this year where there was an increase in exam costs. Another source of course fee is the education management system that is used to monitor and evaluate our students at their clinical site visits-this is the EXXAT. It also allows for curriculum mapping which is necessary for the WSU PAS accreditation. The cost of this program is a yearly fee for each student and a portion of this fee has been allocated to the pertinent didactic courses in Year I (PAS 7040, 7050 and PAS 7060) and all courses in Year II (PAS 8000, 8010 and 8020). Additional costs for PPE required for in-person teaching due to Covid-19 pandemic is included for this course. Finally malpractice and other supply costs have not changed.
David McGrann (al7989) (Fri, 30 Apr 2021 14:17:18 GMT): Fees reduced during provost's office review to exclude PPE request. See attached BOG report.
