In addition to mobile devices readily at students' disposal, this course will require the students to shoot projects on 360 cameras to create virtual environments. The Media Arts Equipment Room currently does not have any 360 cameras and headsets. They will be purchased for this class. The other accessories listed are necessary to stitch the 360 cameras and playback via the Cinegears headset in order to capture high-quality content for the course assignments.
The students are required to edit their projects on Avid Media Composer and use the most up-to-date versions of the multimedia software that is offered, including the Adobe Creative Suite, which is required to be updated annually. Computers in the Department computer labs are used by students every day throughout each semester and often require updates and repairs so that students can complete their assignments.
The CMF offers our students access to current film making technologies & practices for in-class, location, and laboratory applications.
The $85 fee (plus tuition) is in alignment with production-based courses at this level and is realistic given the tools necessary for mobile filmmaking and editing.
