In addition to mobile devices readily at students' disposal, this course will require the students to shoot projects on 360 cameras to create virtual environments. The Media Arts Equipment Room currently does not have any 360 cameras and headsets. They will be purchased for this class. The other accessories listed are necessary to stitch the 360 cameras and playback via the Cinegears headset in order to capture high-quality content for the course assignments.

The students are required to edit their projects on Avid Media Composer and use the most up-to-date versions of the multimedia software that is offered, including the Adobe Creative Suite, which is required to be updated annually. Computers in the Department computer labs are used by students every day throughout each semester and often require updates and repairs so that students can complete their assignments.

The CMF offers our students access to current film making technologies & practices for in-class, location, and laboratory applications.

The $85 fee (plus tuition) is in alignment with production-based courses at this level and is realistic given the tools necessary for mobile filmmaking and editing.
Darin Ellis (ac7940) (Fri, 01 Feb 2019 16:40:50 GMT): Rollback: Proposal not approved. CMF may not be used for personnel
Loraleigh Keashly (ad8889) (Fri, 01 Feb 2019 16:44:05 GMT): Rollback: The CMF for this course has been denied by the Provost's office as CMF can not be used of other than consumables. IN this case, CMF can not cover used for personnel, i.e., lab assistants. I am checking to see if we can get revised CMFs to be considered in time for this coming year. So if you could do the revision and re-send to me, we can at least be positioned to try to get them handled for this coming year.
