Bilingual Education PK-12 Teaching Endorsement Minor
The minor in Bilingual Education PK-12 Teaching Endorsement leads to an endorsement on an existing Michigan teaching certificate. In order to be eligible for admission to the program, students must have or be currently pursuing an existing Michigan teaching certificate.
The Bilingual Education PK-12 Teaching Endorsement requires 24 credits complete all components. All coursework must be completed in accordance with the academic procedures of the College of Education and the University governing undergraduate scholarship and degrees. All major, minor, and education courses must be completed with grades of ‘C’ or better and an overall 2.5 grade point average to meet College graduation requirements.
Additional requirements for the teaching endorsement:
- A passing score on the appropriate Michigan Test for Teacher Certification subject area examination.
- Successfully complete the language proficiency examinations in English and the designated language of his/her individual program prior to taking courses for this minor: A passing score of at least Advanced Low on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages’ Oral Proficiency Interview in a language approved by the Michigan Department of Education (see advisor for more information).
