Visual Arts K-12 Additional Endorsement Minor
The Visual Arts K-12 Additional Endorsement minor leads to an endorsement on an existing Michigan teaching certificate. In order to be eligible for admission to the minor, students be enrolled in an initial Michigan educator preparation program at WSU.
It is expected that students seeking this minor have completed foundational coursework in art (e.g., drawing, art history, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor painting, oil painting, core studio courses for visual communication, etc.).
Prerequisite courses: This minor requires prerequisite courses not listed in the curriculum provided. Please review each course to determine prerequisite requirements. Also, in some cases, the prerequisite courses have prerequisite requirements.
A passing score on the appropriate Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) subject area examination(s) is required to add the endorsement to a Michigan Teaching Certificate. There may be content knowledge or additional preparation beyond the minor requirements needed to meet the MTTC test objectives. Please review the appropriate MTTC subject area test objectives.
The Visual Arts K-12 Additional Endorsement minor requires 22 credits to complete all components. All coursework must be completed in accordance with the academic procedures of the College of Education and the University governing undergraduate scholarship and degrees. Students must earn a grade of 'C' or higher in each course and attain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher among these courses.
